How we check availability
What each check actually proves, what it expires after, and what we refuse to fake.
Automation schedule: availability sweeps start every 17 minutes and process the highest-priority stale records within the free-tier request budget. New-name discovery starts every 6 hours, but six hours is a run interval, not a promise that a name will be published: only candidates passing quality and verified-availability gates enter the public catalog.
Domains (.com / .net / .org / .xyz / .ai / .si)
Proves whether a registration record exists at the authoritative registry. A registry miss is REGISTRY-UNREGISTERED: it does not guarantee the registrar will sell the name at a standard price (premium or reserved pricing is possible). Only registrar checkout is final.
Method and refresh policy
Official registry RDAP endpoints, selected from the IANA bootstrap registry. .ai is Anguilla's ccTLD and .si is Slovenia's ccTLD; both are also useful branding choices for AI projects. No auth. Throttled calls return UNKNOWN and retry later.
Unregistered: 1 day; registered: up to 7 days. These are refresh windows, not guarantees. · Automatic
YouTube handle
When configured: a found handle proves the account exists (taken). A missing handle is NOT proof it can be claimed — YouTube reserves, retires, and reassigns handles, so a miss is reported as "not found / claimability unconfirmed", never as available. Until a key is configured: not verifiable here, manual link provided.
Method and refresh policy
YouTube Data API v3 channels.list (official, free API key required; 10,000 quota units/day).
Account found: up to 14 days; not found: 1 day · Official API once a key is configured
Telegram username
When configured: a resolved username proves an account or chat exists (taken). Bot tokens cannot authoritatively check arbitrary username claimability — reserved, buyable, and collectible usernames are invisible to bots — so a miss is reported as "not found / claimability unconfirmed", never as available. We never ask for personal account logins.
Method and refresh policy
Telegram Bot API getChat (official, bot token required).
Account found: up to 14 days; not found: 1 day · Manual until bot token is configured
GitHub username
An account found means that username is in use. No public account found does not guarantee claimability; GitHub may reserve or restrict names.
Method and refresh policy
GitHub REST API GET /users/{username} (official, unauthenticated; 60 requests/hour per IP).
Account found: up to 14 days; not found: 1 day · Automatic

No reliable, permitted, automated method that respects each platform’s terms is available to us. We will never show a guessed status: these are marked unverified with a direct link to check on the platform.

Status vocabulary: what each word means
| REGISTERED (TAKEN) | The registry or platform holds an active record for this exact name. |
| REGISTRY-UNREGISTERED (available) | The authoritative registry reports no registration record. Registrar pricing may still differ (premium). |
| PREMIUM | The registry or aftermarket marks the name premium; expect elevated pricing. |
| RESTRICTED | The registry itself reserves or restricts the name; not normally registrable. |
| UNKNOWN | No verification, an expired one, or an ambiguous response. No claim is being made. |
| ERROR | The check could not complete (network, quota); queued for automatic retry. |
| STALE | The last check has passed its freshness window; a re-verification is scheduled. |
| REGISTRAR-CONFIRMED-REGISTRABLE | Deliberately never shown: claiming it would require registrar credentials we do not hold. The registrar checkout page is always the final step. |
What we never do: treat a missing web page or API miss as proof a handle is claimable, merge different platforms into one status, or show an expired check as fresh. Where we cannot verify, we say so and link you to the platform.
